Hi there!

A graduate student based out of New York and Los Angeles who is pursuing a master's at Columbia University's Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences program where I focus on quantitative research methodologies and data science techniques.

I am passionate about helping create inclusive spaces and experiences that center those experiencing them and advocating for those individuals and their needs. Research and design has been the primary way that I channel these passions as it combines my interests in behavioral science, technology, and data analytics.

I have 2 years of experience doing research within academic and industry settings. I have worked in B2B and B2C spaces and industries that include information technology, gaming, and education, and have conducted research in social psychology and human-computer interaction.

Previously, I graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with a major in psychology and minor in computer science.

I’m Katherine Lin.

Things that keep me inspired outside of work and academics.

Finding and meaningfully connecting with creative spaces and various communities.

Dance

Dancing has been an essential part of my life for 19 years. Being a dancer has become a part of who I am and has been a source of immense joy, creativity, self-expression, and inspiration in my life.

Choreography

Choreographing has been one of my favorite creative outlets for the past 4 years. I was an artistic director for two years of my dance team where I got to lead creative and organizational direction throughout the year.

Volunteering

I have been working with a non profit organization, Ballet for all Kids, for the past 8 years as a volunteer and teacher. The opportunity has brought me lots of fulfillment and opportunities to meaningfully connect with various communities and leave a positive impact on them.
